Who Are We?

The Church of the Nazarene was founded in 1908 by a group of folks serving some down-and-out communities in Los Angeles, CA. They determined that the best way to serve the urban poor was by ministering to entire families. So, they formed a church: the Church of the Nazarene. Our name comes from John 1:43-46, where upon hearing that the Messiah was Jesus of Nazareth, the soon-to-be disciple Nathaniel scoffed. Can anything good come out of Nazareth? In 1908, many people wondered if anything good could come out of the places where the Church of the Nazarene was planting its roots. Today, some people ask that question of their own families, communities, and neighborhoods. Our answer?

A resounding YES.

Our Mission

To share God's great love with the world.

We aim to love God & neighbor completely,

to speak & live the Gospel truthfully,

& to grow as a community faithfully.

Our Pastor

So Jesus came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; for through him both of us have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God... (Eph. 2:17-19)

Pastor Alex(ander) Wilson has pastored our church since the fall of 2017. He is a graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University (2014) and Nazarene Theological Seminary (2017). Pastor Alex is passionate about planting roots in the downtown Leavenworth area, and developing a strong community and building bridges between people from all walks of life, all for the sake of proclaiming the Good News Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God.

He is joined in ministry by his amazing wife, Alex(andra) Wilson. They have one daughter, Frances, who was born in May of 2018.

Pastor Alex loves music, basketball (NCAA & NBA), and coffee.
